Human Rights Facility (FSA)
Under the so-called Human Rights Facility (FSA) the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs gives an incentive to local initiatives concerning the further improvement of the human rights situation. Initiatives with a clear focus on resolving country-specific problems in the sphere of human rights, aiming at a obtaining a catalytic or strategic positive effect on the development qualify for financial support through FSA. This facility is designed for sustaining efforts of local non-governmental organizations with proved commitment and capacity as regards advocacy for observance of the universal human rights. For the theme relevant governmental institutions and/or international organizations can be involved as partners.
Currently, the Human Rights Facility provides financial support for the following projects:
- The social network for the promotion of non-discriminatory access of persons affected by HIV to medical services
A project intervention aimed at increase the access of persons affected by HIV to general medical services - i.e. others than the infections disease speciality. This objective is to be realised by developing a social network that will provide information on existing legal provisions and services for the benefit of both HIV-infected persons and medical professionals active in the field. - Capacity building for six grass root Roma NGOs in combating racism and discrimination against Roma
A project intervention aiming to support the development of twenty Roma-NGOs from over the whole country, with a focus on the lobby and advocacy field. Implementing organization: Romani CRISS – Centrul Romilor pentru Interventie Sociala si Studii
- My rights are your rights
A project with the aim to promote school attendance of Roma girls by specific in-school activities, advocating the right of every child to regular quality education in respect of both human and children's fundamental rights. Implementing organisation: Center Education 2000+
